Oregon State Freshman Fred Thompson Dies of Heart Attack
Posted by Admin on Thursday, December 8, 2011

Sad news out of Corvallis, Oregon this evening. Cliff Kirkpatrick, Oregon State beat writer for the Corvallis Gazette-Times, is reporting that freshman greyshirt defensive tackle Fred Thompson has died of a heart attack at the Dixon Rec Center while playing pick-up basketball.

Fred Thompson was an Oakland area native and an all-city and northern California region defensive tackle in high school. He was a “grey shirt” who just enrolled at Oregon State for the winter semester and had yet to play for the team.

Thompson was 19 years old and just four days short of his 20th birthday. Thoughts go out to his friends and family as they deal with this difficult situation.

Rapper T.I. Released from Prison One Month Early
Posted by Admin on Thursday, September 1, 2011

Grammy Award-winning rapper T.I. was released from a federal prison in Arkansas a month early! Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke confirmed that T.I. was released from Forrest City Correctional Facility in Arkansas at 7:29 a.m. and will spend the next month in a residential transition facility.

The Atlanta entertainer, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was sentenced in October 2010 to serve 11 months in prison for violating the terms of his probation after he was arrested on suspicion of possessing the drug ecstasy.

In 2007, T.I. faced a possible 30 years in prison on federal gun charges after he was arrested the same day he was due to have starred at the Black Entertainment Television awards, where he had been nominated for a series of honors.

A judge eventually sentenced him to just one year in jail after he pleaded guilty and agreed to do 1,000 hours of community service, which he spent mostly talking with schoolchildren about the dangers of drugs, gangs and violence - work for which he was widely praised.

At his sentencing last year, T.I. acknowledged he violated the terms of his probation when police stopped him for a traffic violation in Los Angeles on September 1 and found drugs in his car.

"I screwed up. I screwed up big time and I am sorry," the rapper told U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell during the sentencing.

Federal prisoners typically spend the last portion of their sentences in Residential Reentry Centers, formerly called halfway houses, said prisons spokesman Edmond Ross.

Prisoners normally are assigned to centers in or near their hometowns, he said. The name of the facility will not be released until after his arrival.

T.I. has already taken to Twitter to let the world know the King is back!!!

He Tweeted:

"Feels great to be back where I belong...Back in the arms of those who need me the most."

"The storm is over & da sun back out. IT'S OUR TIME TO SHINE SHAWTY!!!!! Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending!!!!"

Lil Wayne Sued Over "How to Love" Beat
Posted by Admin on Monday, August 22, 2011

Lil Wayne's smash hit "How to Love" may land him in hot water, as the beat was allegedly stolen.

According to TMZ, rapper Rich Rick filed a lawsuit earlier this week in Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming that he purchased several master recordings between 2006 and 2008, among them the beat to "How to Love," from producers Drummer Boyz.

Rick claims that Drummer Boyz pitched the same beat to Wayne in November 2010, which Wayne acquired in exchange for a 35% royalty agreement.

Rick is suing Wayne, Drummer Boyz, and others for breach of contract, fraud, and other claims.

Attempts to reach the Drummer Boyz were unsuccessful. Calls to Weezy's camp weren't returned.
